When Specialized set out to revamp the Turbo line, they knew that we needed to design a bike that best meets your needs. With our lives getting more hectic with each passing day, finding the tiny pockets of time savings can have a huge impact, and the Turbo Vado 5.0 truly embodies this concept. It utilizes the most advanced pedal-assist technologies, a high-quality component spec, and a suspension fork to take the edge out of those pesky potholes. No matter where you're going, you'll get there faster and in style with the Turbo Vado 5.0. This Turbo Vado frame features an alloy step-through frame that's pretty light and super easy to get on or off of.
Beginning with the integrated Specialized 1.3 motor, the Vado proves itself as the ultimate city bike. It features a silently operating design with our Custom Rx Street tune that takes the output and makes it the most usable for the urban environment. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill both quick and efficient. The belt driven motor is also smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations. Perfect.
The custom 600 Wh battery is fully integrated with the frame, removable for easy charging, and lockable for added security. It communicates with the display and has multiple modes to maximize the overall efficiency and range. For range estimates based upon a variety of variables, please refer to our Turbo Range Calculator.
We also developed a custom 2.2-inch smart computer that lets you view your battery level and toggle various ride metrics such as speed, distance, and time. You can also peruse these screens via the custom handlebar remote without ever removing your hands from the bars.
And to top off all of the innovative features, we chose a high-end spec. Featuring Shimano XT/SLX 11-speed components, two-piston hydraulic disc brakes, a suspension fork with 50mm of travel, racks, and fenders, it's ready to take on the town in effortless style.

Since 1974, we’ve had one goal: Innovate and inspire to improve riders’ lives. So, when we developed our first electric bike in 2009, we knew it had to ride and feel like a great bike first—something we’d really love to ride ourselves. We wanted you to feel like you were on a “regular” bike, but that somehow, you’d grown superhero legs. Our core mission still hasn’t changed. It’s now, and forever will be, our promise for every Turbo: It’s You, Only Faster.
Taking a motor and battery off the shelf would be easy, but we never compromise by just doing the “easy” thing. Instead, we develop our tech in e-Bike-obsessed Cham, Switzerland, and we tune the ride at our Morgan Hill, California headquarters. We carve our own path to deliver electric bikes that ride like they’re truly you, only faster.
Bicycles and products are generally shipped via FedEx and tracking information will be provided to you once en route. Shipping time typically takes from 6–10 business days. Bikes will be shipped 80-90% assembled and we encourage customers to have a professional bicycle mechanic complete final assembly and tuning for performance and safety reasons. We offer a $50 reimbursement for this provided the customer gives proof of service. At that time, we will send a check for reimbursement and activate the manufacturer’s warranty.
We encourage local customers to pick up fully assembled and tuned bikes (free of charge) or inquire about our local delivery options. Delivery within a 15 mile radius of our shop is free when bikes are ordered online. Contact us immediately at 619-564-7028 or email@example.com after online purchase to make arrangements.
Our policy lasts 10 days and a 12% restocking fee will be assessed. If 10 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. For bikes, they must have less than 3 miles on the odometer. It must also be in the original packaging with manuals and accessories. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted; Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error; Any item that is returned more than 10 days after delivery. There are no returns or refunds offered for already applied labor or special order items.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. There will be a twelve percent restocking fee. As mentioned above, we do not offer returns or refunds for labor or special order items.
